NBA Trade 2017 Latest News & Update: Brooklyn Nets Find Potential Bojan Bogdanovic Suitor In Washington Wizards

The NBA trade circus has started, ignited by the surprise deal involving DeMarcus Cousins. More eye-popping deals are expected in the following days though there could be some sleepers like Bojan Bogdanovic of the Brooklyn Nets. More believe that the Nets are cleaning house, offering their high-salaried stars for picks or younger players.

The Brooklyn Nets are not expected to make the NBA playoffs with their woeful record. They are in the cellar of the Eastern Conference so the next best thing to do is to rebuild as early as now. They need to clear up some salary cap space with a Brook Lopez departure giving them breathing room. The second best option is Bojan Bogdanovic and Washington looms like a good destination with the Wizards looking for wing players, Nothin But Nets reported.

In return, the Nets could get back in the 2017 NBA Draft though it may not be in the top 10. The Wizards own the 24th pick, two notches lower than what the Nets could get in a pick swap with the Boston Celtics. It hardly seems like an ideal exchange but moving up (even a bit) in the expected deep draft could make a big difference.

As for Lopez, the Nets may want to lower their expectations on what to get. Lopez has shown he can play well but pales in comparison to veteran big men in the league. Also, dealing for the 7-footer would need more assets, hinting a multiplayer deal since he holds a hefty contract.

Either way, the goal of the Nets is to get into the first round selection of the 2017 NBA Draft. Critics feel that seeing Brooklyn snag a deal for a ticket to the first round may be nearly impossible though anything can happen in the coming days, Nets Daily reported. The NBA trade deadline is Thursday, Feb. 23 with lots of deals expected to follow the Cousins blockbuster move.
