'The Originals' Season 4 Air Date & Spoilers: Klaus Mikaelson Facing Possible Death In Final Season

By Belle Sebastian | Update Date: Feb 09, 2017 12:04 PM EST

Big things are set to happen in the final season of "The Originals" as Klaus Mikaelson remains walled up and vulnerable under Marcel Gerard's command. So is it finally the end for Klaus and the other Mikaelsons in "The Originals" Season 4? Can Hayley Marshall find a way to bring them back when the series returns on The CW this March?

Klaus Mikaelson finally stood trial in the Season 3 finale, where he was sentenced to be imprisoned inside the Mikaelson compound for as long as Marcel wanted. This meant that Elijah, Kol, Rebekah and Freya would fall unconscious as Hayley was left alone and defeated. Nevertheless, Hayley managed to take the sleeping Mikaelsons away as she vowed to cure everyone in order to bring the family back together. Will she succeed in "The Originals" Season 4? Or will Klaus end up dead in the final season?

Fans won't need to wait very long to find out. TVLine has just reported that "The Originals" Season 4 air date is set for March, and the final season could focus on Klaus and his possible redemption. The CW series is also set to highlight Hayley's struggle to bring back the Mikaelsons and it certainly looks like she just might succeed.

The trailer for "The Originals" Season 4 confirms that the final season will take place 5 years after Klaus Mikaelson's trial, which means Hayley has relentlessly tried (and failed) to free Elijah, Rebekah, Kol and Freya. The teaser also shows much of Hayley in wolf form, although some believe that one of the wolves in the trailer might be Klaus. It also appears that Klaus might already be resigned to the fact that his death is happening soon.

Can Hayley save the Mikaelsons and bring back the First Family of New Orleans? Will Klaus Mikaelson finally meet his demise in the final season? "The Originals" Season 4 will premiere on The CW on March 17.
