'Avengers: Infinity War' Reportedly Adds 'Guardians Of The Galaxy' Star Benicio Del Toro, The Collector To Be Killed By Thanos

It's no secret that "Avengers: Infinity War" will feature an all-star cast that already includes characters from the first "Guardians of the Galaxy" film. Now it looks like "Sicario" actor Benicio del Toro has joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe flick. But does this mean that The Collector will be one of Thanos' first victims when the highly anticipated movie hits theaters next year?

Benicio del Toro was recently confirmed to be in Atlanta, where the actor was reportedly browsing vinyls (via Instagram). It might seem unlikely that del Toro would travel all the way to Georgia just to get his hands on some records, so fans immediately speculated that the "Guardians of the Galaxy" star is in town to film some scenes for "Avengers: Infinity War". Unfortunately, some also believe The Collector's presence in the MCU flick will be short-lived since he is in possession of something that Thanos is looking for.

Anyone who has been following the MCU flicks is well aware that Thanos is seeking out the Infinity Stones. Although The Collector almost had his hands on the purple Power Stone in "Guardians of the Galaxy", Star-Lord and his gang has taken it to Nova Corps instead. However, Benicio del Toro's character still has the Aether, which was brought to him by the Asgardians in the post-credits scene in "Thor: The Dark World". But does this mean Thanos will kill The Collector to get the red Infinity Stone in "Avengers: Infinity War"?

There are speculations that Benicio del Toro might only have a cameo in the highly anticipated MCU flick to make way for the bigger storyline, which is the Avengers (and friends) versus Thanos. Some believe The Collector will appear in the first part of the movie as Thanos arrives in Knowhere and will immediately be killed to procure the Aether. However, it is important to point out that these are only speculations and must be taken with a grain of salt. "Avengers: Infinity War" is scheduled for release on May 4, 2018.
