‘Pokemon Go’ Latest News & Update: Windows Platform Version Still Awaited, Niantic Remains Silent

The hype of “Pokemon Go” is technically still up though Niantic has slowed down a bit following a busy last quarter in 2016. There are still a lot of speculated features absent and a peak at the list of requests broadens what the AR company has yet to address.

Updates are expected in the coming months, though most have been catered to iOS and Android. The two mobile platforms hold official apps at their respective app stores, begging to ask if a “Pokemon Go” Windows version would ever come out and be available via the Microsoft Windows Store. Worth noting is that the Redmond company has so far focused on building its plethora of devices, proof of which are the handful selection of apps available at the moment.

There is no telling what the plans of Niantic and Microsoft are though there is alternative (but complicated) ways to play “Pokemon Go” on devices running under the Windows banter. This is through the PoGo-UWP which requires a bit of technical know-how to get it done. The thought of that alone may turn off users, opting to wait for an official version that holds no promise, Neurogadget reported.

There is an easier method to get an improvised “Pokemon Go” on Windows-run devices. This is through GitHub where it will only require individuals to copy a file and install it via the file manager on phones. However, actually playing the game will not be as smooth as iOS and Android, meaning some may not have the patience to play the game in compromising fashion.

At the moment, the absence of “Pokemon Go” is not likely to effect the cause of Microsoft and its line of devices. All that could change once the speculated Microsoft Surface Phone comes out in the open. Once that is established, such may be the only time that the Redmond company would scramble and discuss with Niantic on how to bring the augmented reality game to Windows OS users.
