Bates Motel" Season 5 would be the final bow of the favorite prequel of Alfred Hitchcock's 1960 film "Psycho." As A&E recently dropped a new trailer of the show's swan song, it hints a more gruesome, scary and chilling finale. The almost three-minute teaser of "Bates Motel" Season 5 will take its viewers to the household of the Bates family.

With a song by Della Reese, "Come On-Am My House," the trailer features the classic style of the mother and son's humble abode. Although they are living in the modern time, the two are evidently in a time warp with their furniture and even to the show they're watching, the 1936 comedy film "My man Godfrey." However, by this time, fans of the classic 1960 movie "Psycho" or the 1959 novel by Robert Bloch with the same title already knew what will happen.

The "Bates Motel" Season 5 promo video hinted what happened to Norman (Freddie Highmore) and to his mother Norma (Vera Farmiga), The A.V. Club reported. Norman is seen busy working on his taxidermy and entering a dark secret room. Norma, on the other hand, is believed to be upstairs preparing for dinner. In fact, someone even called Norman that their supper is ready that might be his mother. But it is now a big puzzle who is the woman revealed at the end of the trailer.

According to the show's writers and executive producers Kerry Ehrin and Carlton Cuse, "Bates Motel" Season 5 will pick up after two years of Norma's death. As Norman is now a grown up man, he is actually living a double life, Deadline reported. In front of everyone, Norman acts as a normal happy guy. But at home, he is becoming a psycho that's experiencing some violent blackouts as the thought of his mom is slowly taking his sane mind completely.

Dylan Massett (Max Thierot) and Emma Decody (Olivia Cooke) are not aware of Norma's death, but they will find themselves trapped in Norman's insanity. He will, then, be faced by Alex Romero (Nestor Carbonell), who wants to take his revenge for Norma. "Bates Motel" Season 5 will air on Feb. 20 on A&E.
