"Supergirl" Season 2 has completed it first half of the season yet no reports about Cat Grant's (Calista Flockhart) return have surfaced. Apart from Cat, it can be noted that Maxwell Lord (Peter Facinelli), a major character from Season 1, has been missing in action too. Where are National City's most powerful personalities?

Fans of "Supergirl" are very well aware that actress Flockhart declined to be a series regular because of the shift of network from CBS to The CW. Moving to The CW means that shooting for the show would have to be relocated from Los Angeles to Vancouver. As it seems, the "Ally McBeal" actress cannot commit traveling that long distance away from her husband.

Seemingly, even the series producers are sad to see Cat leave Catco, so Flockhart's comeback is a highly awaited part of the show. Though nothing official has been announced about her return, it was revealed that she may do an episode in Spring. "Flockhart is not currently confirmed to appear in any additional Season 2 episodes, but there's talk of a short-term comeback in the spring," TV Line reported.

Meanwhile, actor Facinelli is also MIA since "Supergirl" kicked off with its second season. Unfortunately for fans, there are no reports and interviews have surfaced about why the actor has yet to reprise his role on the hit TV series. Speculations suggested that similar to Flockhart, the "Twilight" actor also had to give up his role as Max because of the network shift.

Max played an essential part during the finale of "Supergirl" Season 1 where he was able to track Myriad's signal to Fort Rozz. it can be recalled that Kara's (Melissa Benoist) uncle, Non (Chris Vance), executed a plan that uses Myriad to control the minds of the people of National City to fulfill his deceased wife's mission. Thanks to Max for locating the Myriad so Kara and J'onn J'onzz (David Harewood) had the chance to defeat the enemies.

"Supergirl" Season 1 also left a major cliffhanger involving Max as he possessed a powerful technology called Omegahedron as pointed out by The Hollywood Reporter. However, the story about the alien technology has not been worked out on Season 2 of "Supergirl" as of this posting. Hopefully, more news about the return of Cat and Max will emerge as the show picks up in 2017.
