"Supergirl" Season 2 will return with an episode called "Supergirl Lives" where National City's superhero will head to a unique alien world. The newly released teaser for its episode 9 highlighted the comeback of Roulette and the villain is seemingly up to something no good that involves aliens, again. Below are some important scoops about the plot of "Supergirl" come 2017.

The preview of "Supergirl" Season 2 showed Kara in a portal where she found herself under a Red Sun. The light apparently hurts the superhero as revealed in the latter part of the trailer. Does the Red Sun make Kara vulnerable, similar to what Kryptonite does to her?

Roulette's return was also teased and it remains to be seen if she knows something about the new alien world. Speaking of aliens, a new batch of enemies were also revealed in the trailer and as it seems, the Guardian's help was needed. Kara's friend Winn was also seen trying to assist the heroes of National City from outside the DEO.

As reported by Heavy, "Supergirl Lives" was directed by Kevin Smith who referred to it as "big episode that turned out phenomenally." "It's different from a lot of "Supergirl" episodes. We take a journey," the director added. Based on the trailer revealed, Supergirl might really have a journey ahead following her discovery of a Red Sun that may weaken or even kill her.

Meanwhile, several surprises are waiting for fans in 2017 as Screencrush confirmed that two upcoming episodes of "Supergirl" will see the debut of the villainous Mr. Mxyzptlk. Additionally, one if not both episodes will see Barry Allen visit National City again for another "The Flash" and "Supergirl" crossover. The new crossover may come slightly different from the earlier ones as it is expected to be a musical episode.

"Supergirl" Season 2 may also see the reveal of Mon-El's mysterious past as it returns on Jan. 23. Moreover, the highly anticipated comeback of Cat Grant may also come next year so fans would have to stay tuned to their favorite show starting January.
