Woman Who Refuses to Remove Her Corset for 3 Years Reveals Her Shockingly Tiny Waist

Update Date: Jun 10, 2013 03:19 PM EDT

Want a tiny waist? Drop the diet and put on a corset.

A 24-year-old German woman has shrunk her waist from 25 inches (64 centimeters) to a mere 16 inches (40 centimeters) by wearing a corset continuously for three years, and she plans on whittling her waist down even more to a shocking 15 inches.

For three years, Michele Kobke was in her corset. She wore it when she ate, slept and exercised.

"It embraces me and gives me [a] pretty, defined waist," she said, according to the Daily Mail. "It feels nice and smooth. It's unique."

She says she plans on cutting her waist down even further.

"My dream waist is 15 inches," she told the Daily News.

However, she admits that her petite waist could have serious consequences for her health. She already finds it difficult to stand up without her corset, and a doctor recently diagnosed her with some muscle atrophy from wearing her corset 24 hours a day. What's more, her stomach has become so constricted that she can't even eat a normal meal in one sitting. She has to, instead, eat up to 10 small meals a day.

"I can't imagine to just stop one day," she told RTL, a German television channel. "The corsets have become an important part of my life. I just can't imagine."

"My life hasn't changed, just slowed down a little," she said, according to the Daily Mail. "Now my movement is more feminine."

"Right now I'm a little breathless, changing corsets is like a high-performance sport for me," she added.

Besides potentially damaging her health, Kobke has had many disagreements with her family members, who don't understand why she's going through such extreme measures and endangering her health just to be "beautiful".

"My family's reaction to my tightlacing regimen is quite negative," she told RTL. "They say that I spoil my body. But I would say that smoking and drinking alcohol are actually much worse for you, so corsets may not be healthy, but also not really unhealthy."

If Kobke gets her "ideal waist", she would come close to getting the world record. The current world record holder is Cathie Jung, a Connecticut woman whose waist measures just under 15 inches (38cm).
