New Survey Reveals Men Are More Romantic Than Women

Contrary to popular belief, a new relationship survey has revealed that men are actually more romantic than women.

Researchers found that while 48 percent of men have fallen in love at first sight, only 28 percent of women have reported the same.

The study, published in the new book "The Normal Bar", surveyed around 10,000 people around the world about their attitudes towards love and relationships.

The new book is written by Chrisanna Northrupp and is co-authored by researchers Professor Pepper Schwartz, a sociologist at the University of Washington, and Professor James Schwartz, Director of the Center for Social Science Research at George Mason University in Virginia, according to the Daily Mail.

The book includes data collected from various online surveys and aims to debunk long-held myths surrounding sexuality and relationships to help people of the 21st century make their own relationships more satisfying.

According to the Washington Post, the survey, which is still going on, contains around 1,300 questions from sex to the most attractive physical features to personality traits a person looks for.

The survey also found that 74 percent of people are happy in their relationship and 66 percent of people questioned believe their partner is their soul mate.

The survey also found that many feel that having sex without emotional ties outside a relationship was not technically regarded as having an affair.

Researchers found while only 15 percent of those asked admitted to having had an affair, the number of people who confessed to being unfaithful spiked when the question was phrased as "sex outside of your current relationship".

The survey found that a third of men and 19 percent of women said they have participated in extra-marital relations.

The authors go on to explain that for many people the key to a happy relationship includes having regular date nights, using affectionate pet names, holding hands, passionate kissing back rubs and frequently saying "I love you".  However, most people agree that the most important factor to having a successful relationship was communication.
