The final moments of "Sherlock" Season 4 were packed with plenty of interesting story lines. The dialog that was supposed to appear after the musical montage never made it past the editing table.

"Sherlock" Season 4 Finale Review: The Superb Musical Montage

It was a breathtaking musical montage that started off with a violin duet of the detective and Eurus, his disturbed sister in the island prison.

It then shifted focus to Baker Street with a bunch of unseen cases prior to the emergence of John and Sherlock from the "Rathbone Place" for other adventures. Though it is uncertain whether viewers will get to see them or not at this point in time, RadioTimes reported.

The montage of "Sherlock" Season 4 was intentionally designed in that way as the writers and the cast was not certain at that time if they could come up with more cases featuring the much-loved detective. So, the final moments were presented in a manner that could either work as a new start or an end. It was done so beautifully that no words were needed to express.

It is intriguing to note that originally a dialog was written, which was supposed to feature right after the end of the montage. However, the writers Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss soon realized that there was no need for that dialog as the orchestra will do that job wonderfully.

Gatiss was addressing the matter of "Sherlock's" music at a session in the BFI & Radio Times Television Festival. The writer explained the importance of that magnificent score by the composer duo Michael Price and David Arnold made those final moments so special. Gatiss said, "The only way [Sherlock and Eurus] can communicate now is through music."

"Sherlock" Season 5 Renewal Hopes Teased By Producer And Creators

Fans were worried that they would not be able to see their favorite detective in action but their hopes have been revived to a great extent. Sue Vertue, the producer and the show's creators Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss shared that there could be a possibility of new episodes in the future, The Mirror wrote.

Gatiss said, "Of course it could come back." He added, "We left it in a place where we thought we could leave it, and equally a place where we could come back to it. It really just depends."
