According to Deadline, "Santa Clarita Diet" Season 2 will serve brand new episodes, which will air in 2018. The cast and crew will return for filming this summer.

"Santa Clarita Diet" Plot

The hit dark comedy series features the adventures of a "zombie-like" wife and her not-so-ordinary family. Before the incident, the couple worked in the realty industry as real estate dealers. The Hammonds were just part of a simple suburban community until she "changed."

It picks up from the events where Sheila Hammond (Drew Barrymore) mysteriously transformed into a flesh-hungry "undead" creature. Joel (Timothy Olyphant) and their daughter Abby (Liv Hewson) must do everything to keep her hunger in check.

"My Name Is Earl" writer, Victor Fresco created the horror comedy series. He will produce the series with Barrymore and Olyphant. The other EPs are Tracy Katsky, Aaron Kaplan, Chris Miller, Ember Truesdell, Andy Weil, Jane Wiseman, Brittany Segal, and Ruben Fleischer.
