Marion Checks In
"Bates Motel" kicks off the episode with the appearance of the famous character from Psycho - Marion Crane. In Episode 6, the show introduced us to a beautiful real estate employee.

However, her life gets more complicated after engaging in an affair. Marion and Sam (Austin Nichols) are seeing each other behind his wife's back. However, her life continues to get complicated since then.

Marion secretly took her boss' money in hopes that she can marry Sam. The latter, on the other hand, has not told her about his previous marriage. She then told him to meet at Bates Motel.

Norman Meets Marion Crane In "Bates Motel"

Freddie Highmore's character welcomed Rihanna at the office. He even offered some sandwiches to her. Little did she know, two of her male acquaintances have been having troubles within themselves.

Norman continued to fight his mom, Norma (Vera Farmiga) in his mind. It seems that he may have one this round. It was after Norman helped Marion with her problem.

"Bates Motel" Season 1 Episode 6 Includes A Plot Twist

The A&E show featured a different take on the modern version of Marion Crane. Janet Leigh previously played the role in Alfred Hitchcock's classic horror flick. Rihanna, on the other hand, portrayed the character with a surprising twist.

Norman succeeded in fighting his mom's suggestion to kill her. In the movie, Norman killed Marion while she was taking a shower. This time, it was Sam who got killed instead.

Marion To Return Again?

Showrunners Kerry Ehrin and Carlton Cuse shared some details about the massive reveal about Marion's character. Sadly, they said that it will be Marion's last appearance on the show.

The creative duo told Variety that used various scenarios to strengthen her role. However, the crew felt "excited" over the final cut where they redefined Marion.

Both Ehrin and Cuse also defended their decision in picking Sam as the victim. "There was no way to redefine Marion Crane as a modern empowered woman if we killed her in the shower," Cuse added.

"Bates Motel" currently airs its fifth and final season on A&E. Stay tuned for more updates about Rihanna and "Bates Motel" Season 5.
