"Wentworth" Season 5 Update: Actress Pamela Rabe Opens Up About Her Role

The actress has been praised widely for her portrayal of the erstwhile warden, but now an inmate called Joan Ferguson. Rabe, who has won the prestigious AACTA award in the past got candid about her role while being interviewed by the Foxtel magazine, Daily Telegraph reported.

She revealed that her role in the prison drama has shades of her real self in certain places. Rabe said, "Oh yeah, of course, there are some things." The star has also been involved in projects like "Siren and Cost" and expressed how privileged she felt for being a part of the acting profession.

The actress mentioned that she takes great pride in the opportunities she got to "step inside other people's shoes." Rabe feeIs that such chances are rarely available in one's real life otherwise.

"Wentworth" Season 5 Theme As Hinted By Teasers

With the end of season 4, it appears that the show will follow the lives of other prisoners after Bea's death. Viewers will remember that It was "The Freak" who had killed her.

The official page of "Wentworth" on Facebook had posted two teasers. Both these teasers feature the other prisoners with the slogan "Revenge will set us free." The statement appears to be self-explanatory in itself.

It is likely that  the slogan will be the theme for the upcoming season, The Christian Post noted. While the events in season 4 were shocking, the new season appears to be full of tension, which may culminate into a violent season 5 finale.

On the other hand, the teasers made public by Foxtel did not indicate the starting point for episode 1 of season 5. However, it seems likely that Allie Novak (Kate Jenkinson) will be behind bars once again with the remaining crew and Joan "The Freak."

"Wentworth" Season 5 is scheduled to premiere on Apr. 4 on the Showcase channel.
