'This Is Us' Finale Review: Episode Did Not Reveal Cause Of Jack's Demise, Not A Tear-Jerker For Many

The finale episode of "This is Us" did not elaborate on the actual cause of Jack's death. Moreover, some fans appeared to be a bit disillusioned, as they felt that the episode was not as emotional as they would have expected it to be.

Many fans were anticipating that the finale episode of "This is Us" will make them cry a lot. Their expectations had built up, as the cast of the show were hinting at a tear-jerker and heavier episode but it seems it fell short of their expectations.

Some fans even wrote on social media that this is the first time they felt a bit disappointed with the fact that they did not weep while watching an episode. A user even tweeted:"I've never felt so disappointed to not cry... how did the most emotional show pull off the most anticlimactic finale?"

There was disillusionment from some quarters, as the show did not unfold something many fans were eagerly waiting for. It failed to explain the reason behind Jack's (Milo Ventimiglia) death, according to Washington Post. However, there was no doubt that it was a heart-breaking finale.

Although, avoiding an important revelation appeared to be quite agonizing for many die-hard fans of the show. Meanwhile, social media was flooded with posts from fans who seemed upset about the last episode. A majority of them mentioned that they were shattered more because the reason for the character's demise was not unfolded, rather than learning that Jack will be dead soon.

Storyline Of "This is Us" Finale Episode

The plot of the finale episode revolved around the first meeting of Rebecca (Mandy Moore) and Jack. It also hinted the possibility of an end to their marriage around two decades later. The episode also featured the Pearson kids and viewers got an idea about their plans.

In other news, Randall (Sterling K. Brown) made it known to Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson) about his desire to adopt a baby. Meanwhile, Kevin (Justin Hartley) auditioned for a Ron Howard movie. 

Sophie (Alexandra Breckenridge), his ex-wife is supportive of his endeavors all the way. And lastly, Kate (Chrissy Metz) nurtures the hope of following her mother's footsteps and become a singer.
