UFC 2017 Latest News & Update: Conor McGregor Assures Trilogy, Dana White Draws The Line With 'The Notorious'

UFC Lightweight champion Conor McGregor has been busy pushing for a fantasy match with retired boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. as of late. He says that this will be his priority though he hasn’t forgotten about an unsettled score with Nate Diaz.

A video showing Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Nate Diaz taking separate swipes at Conor McGregor was released by the retired boxer, and the Irishman was expectedly miffed at the collaboration. He wasn’t short of expletives pointed towards Diaz and Mayweather and eventually assured that he would settle the score, MMA Junkie reported. The rubber match is long overdue though all that could be next once the UFC bosses book it.

For his part, Conor McGregor assured that he wants the third fight to happen. In fact, he has started the mind games against Diaz, advising him to think it over before agreeing to face him again inside the Octagon. The trilogy would have happened at UFC 205 but Dana White and company booked the Irishman against Eddie Alvarez instead. And as most know by now, McGregor won that encounter and became the first UFC fighter to hold titles in two separate divisions, the NY Times reported.

Aside from the push for a fight against Mayweather, UFC president Dana White could be reaching his tipping point. Aware of the constant swipes that McGregor has been dishing, White issued some serious shots at “The Notorious”, drawing the line to remind the lightweight champion that he may not be able to get away with the insults and taunts he has been doing for his employer, MMA Mania reported.

From here, it will be interesting if Conor McGregor will react and make yet another proverbial dish. Normally that would be the case but the recent and rare appearance of White at the UFC on Fox 23 press conference seems a bit off and a bit disturbing.
