Ronda Rousey Latest News & Updates: Rowdy’s Drop Reeling In UFC Women’s Division

The fact that Ronda Rousey was unable to complete a successful return the UFC Women’s Division at UFC 207 place her future in doubt. However, critics believe such could include the stature of the division, something that she helped build. This is not to discredit the success of reigning champion Amanda Nunes but more on the star power that Rousey brings.

Compared to the time when Ronda Rouse reigned against the like of Miesha Tate and Holly Holm, there is a glaring hole that could see the division lose its luster. Nunes is fantastic but her closest opponents don’t carry the same popularity that can contribute to the popularity of the division during UFC events.

Among the next possible opponents to Nunes title belt is Valentina Schevchenko and Julianna Pena. Both are rising stars as well but lack the drawing power that will make the women’s division something to watch, the NY Post reported. Rousey is still in the mix though she is on hiatus. She could return for another bout though most are divided on the impact such would bring.

Ronda Rousey did mention that her match against Nunes would be one of the last ones of her UFC career. But after that UFC 207 performance, most believe that she may eventually walk away in the end. Her weakness was exposed, that of which was an answer to the striking game of the Brazilian. These were the same moves seen when she lost to Holm at UFC 193.

Various personalities have come forward to help Ronda Rousey. That includes Floyd Mayweather Jr., someone that “Rowdy” had qualms with before, TMZ reported. While the offer to help Rousey train seems sincere, the 29-year-old’s pride may thwart such from happening. Then again, it may all depend on the reflection that Rousey is undergoing. She could mellow down and accept, forming a friendship that came about from a childish rivalry.
