Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey came back after a year of absence but his mental state was still in question. She lost in lopsided fashion with Amanda Nunes needing only 48 seconds to dispose of the former champ.

A look at the fight already hinted that Rousey would not last long. Her confidence was questioned and her indecisive nature was seen. With apprehension and fear written all over, there was no way she could overcome the “Brazilian Vixen”. It makes two-in-a-row that Rousey has lost inside the Octagon and now most are expecting the inevitable – retirement. Before taking on Nunes, the former champion already hinted that this would be one of her last matches.

And most believe that for “Rowdy’s” sake, this should be it, USA Today reported. Rousey is still a big name in the sport but the more fights she decides to take on could prove to be detrimental. Mentally, she is still shaken up badly and one can only imagine what is going on in her mind right now. One person who believes that Rousey should move on is her mother, AnnMaria Del Mars. She believes that her daughter is talented enough to move to better things such as acting, producing and writing.

But then again, this wasn’t the first time she wanted Ronda to retire, TMZ reported. Among Rousey’s options is to focus on Hollywood or join the WWE bandwagon. But is Vince McMahon ready to take in the former UFC champion in her current state? Following the second consecutive loss, her market value has dipped considerably. Would that tarnished image still be enough to salvage?

Rousey is expected to take some time off and do some soul-searching. Her future is left hanging for now with most left guessing. Retirement is an easy escape clause, but what lies ahead for the former fierce mixed martial artist who is still psychologically weak?
