As 2016 came to a close, news of Microsoft adding a Game Mode to PCs on Microsoft 10 were all the rage. It was confirmed last week, along with news that Microsoft Insider tests were beginning soon. That day has come, as Microsoft Insider testes begin on new Game Mode. But how does this new feature change the landscape of PC gaming? Let's break it down.

According to The Verge, Microsoft has broken its silence on the workings of the Microsoft 10 Game Mode. In fact, gamers should be delighted to know that the new Game Mode will enable the PC to not only allot the necessary resources to the game, but prioritize these CPU and GPU resources as well. This will result in improving the game's frame rate to make for a better gaming experience.

Now that Microsoft Insider tests begin on new Game Mode, Windows 10 users should also be aware that there are also some gaming additions that are in the works. In fact, there will be a Game Bar tool that can be called upon by pressing "Windows + G." This new Game Bar will be the home for functions like screenshots, video recording, and Beam broadcasting. It's a pretty neat thing to have if you're someone who likes to share gaming experiences online.

In the meantime, Digital Trends reports that there's so much more to the new Windows 10 Game Mode. Now that Microsoft Insider tests begin on new Game Mode, users can now know that the Game Mode has two major goals to carry out. The first is to achiece peak frame rates and the other is to get the highest possible average frame rates. While it seems a lofty goal, it's fairly achievable thanks to the ability to set the game as the foreground app and at the same time, prioritize resources for the said game.
