With the release of Windows 10 comes several updates that often address performance issues and the like. The latest news surrounding the OS is that a new update is coming soon. With it, Microsoft may include a game mode for enhanced performance. The news comes from a file found in a leaked version of an upcoming update called Creators.

The news comes via GameSpot, which reported that there was a DLL file named "gamemode" that was found in the latest build of Windows 10, version 14997. This indicates that Microsoft may include a game mode for enhanced performance when using the PC for playing games with high graphics demands.

According to The Verge, "gamemode.dll" may be a new function that will reallocate CPU and GPU resources when playing games to provide enhanced performance. This new function will allow PCs with Windows 10 to free up the much-needed space to run a game and more importantly, emulate a console. This isn't the first time Microsoft is making the gaming experience better for those on PC, as they've already offered cross-platform purchasing options for gamers on Xbox One.

Right now, the file discovered in new leak for the Creators update only indicates the possibility of such a game mode. Microsoft may include a game mode for enhanced performance in a new Windows 10 update. But right now, the tech giant has not released any official statement on this matter just yet.

The Creators update is set to be released this spring, and Windows 10 users will have to wait until then to find out if the game mode is indeed included in the update. To stay updated on the latest on Windows 10 and the Creator update, make sure to bookmark this page.
