“Grand Theft Auto 6” has yet to get some concrete update with most relying on the grapevine for a sign. Rockstar Games has been kept busy improving on its current game titles –including GTA 5 Online. Looking ahead, however, speculations have been comprised of both positive and negative expectations.

On the positive side of a potential “Grand Theft Auto 6”, leading the way is the inclusion of a female protagonist (reportedly voiced by Eva Mendes) and the adoption of virtual reality into the mix. Should these be true, it somehow explains why budget costs could become a problem for Rockstar Games. This could rake in financial limitations that many fear would become a reason for delaying the release date of the sixth installment, Neurogadget reported.

The speculated date of release for “Grand Theft Auto 6” is 2018 which was based on the scheduled release dates of previous GTA installments. If the cycle is followed, Rockstar Games releases a new game installment every five years. Should the high cost of development hold up, there is a chance that GTA 6 may be pushed by several months or year/s back?

Right now, Rockstar Games is busy attending to “Red Dead Redemption 2” which is set to be released in the Fall. In fact, a potential release date has come out, Game Rant reported. They are also busy rolling out DLC packs for “Grand Theft Auto 5 Online” which include the celebrated “Vehicle Vendetta” mode that encourages multiplayer to come together and take on bullies.

While the added content is welcome, most prefer to see a totally new version offering new features, storylines and hopefully better graphic detail. If Rockstar Games is indeed contemplating on applying augmented reality and/or virtual reality plus hefty talent fees for voice talent, “Grand Theft Auto 6” gamers do have reason to worry. But until Rockstar Games comes out with an official statement on the status of GTA 6, it would be best to keep an open mind for now.
