Carrie Fisher, best known for her role as Princess Leia Organa in the Star Wars movie franchise, recently suffered from cardiac arrest. She was on a flight to Los Angeles.

Current Condition. There has been a lot of speculation surrounding Fisher's condition. Some have even claimed that she was on life support and only being kept alive on machines.

Fisher's mother, Debbie Reynolds, finally gave official word on her daughter's condition via her twitter account yesterday: "Carrie is in stable condition. If there is a change,we will share it. For all her fans & friends. I thank you for your prayers & good wishes."

Mark Hamill, who plays Fisher's twin brother Luke Skywalker in the franchise, also took to twitter to express his thoughts. Hamill tweeted that he "wanted his Princess home."

Similarly, Harrison Ford has also expressed that he was saddened by the recent news. He plays Fisher's love interest in the movie franchise.

Princess Leia and Star Wars: Episode VIII News. Fans all over the world were distress by the news. Princess Leia is set to play an important role in Star Wars: Episode VIII.

[SPOILERS] In last year's Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, Han Solo (Harrison Ford) was killed by his son Kylo Ren (played by Adam Driver). Kylo Ren is also Princess Leia's son.

If there will be any redemption for Kylo Ren in the future, it will be brought about by his relationship with his mother. This is similar to the story between Darth Vader, Leia's father, and Luke Skywalker.

Additionally, Leia is already the leader of the Rebellion. She will obviously have a significant part in what is to happen next against the Empire.

Whether or not Carrie Fisher will return in Star Wars Episode VIII remains to be seen. It is, however, sure that the character of Leia will be returning to the movie.
