Watching Christmas movies with your family and loved ones is a good way to catch up during the holiday season. Below are some of the most heartwarming Christmas movies to watch.

Miracle on 34th Street. The original is a 1947 Christmas comedy-drama that takes place between Thanksgiving and Christmas day in New York City. The story revolves around Kris Kringle (Edmund Gwenn) who insists to be the real Santa Claus.

The film won a total of 3 Oscars: Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Edmund Gwenn); Best Writing, Original Story (Valentine Davies); and Best Writing, Screenplay. It was also nominated for Best Picture, but lost to 'Gentleman's Agreement.'

Due to its acclaim and success, the movie has been remade four times. The latest remake of the movie was in 1994, which is the version that is usually aired during Christmas on television networks.

Love Actually. Love Actually is a Christmas-themed romantic comedy that was written and directed by Richard Curtis. It features an all-star ensemble cast including Hugh Grant, Liam Neeson, Colin Firth, Emma Thompson, Alan Rickman, Keira Knightley, and Rowan Atkinson.

A majority of the movie was filmed in London. The story features five different stories that all come together during the Christmas holiday.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Based on the best-selling children's book of the same name by Dr. Seuss, the movie is an animated musical comedy television special. It was directed by Chuck Jones and first aired in the United States on December 18, 1966.

The story of the Grinch is one that is familiar to adults and kids alike. The Grinch is someone who hates Christmas and who tries to steal the village of Whoville's decorations until he has a change of heart at the last minute.

It's a Wonderful Life. The movie is a 1946 American Christmas fantasy drama. It is based on the short story "The Greatest Gift" by Philip Van Doren Stern.

"It's a Wonderful Life" is praised as one of the greatest films ever made. It was nominated for five Academy Awards including Best Picture.

Home Alone. Home Alone is a 1990 Christmas comedy starring Macaulay Culkin as Kevin McCallister. This is a movie that the whole family, especially the kids, will enjoy and appreciate.

It has a sequel, "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York." Together, the two movies are regularly aired on television networks almost every Christmas.
