Prepare for more sorcery and magic spells as "The Magicians" season 2 premieres on 9/8c on Jan. 25, 2016.

The hit fantasy-drama series, based on the novel of Lev, features the adventures of Quentin Coldwater (Jason Ralph) and his band of gifted individuals who learn about their magical abilities at Brakebills University, a school that specializes in casting magic spells.

It is during the group's internship at the school wherein they realize that the fantastical stories they read in books as children were not figments of the imagination but were in fact very real.

However, as Quentin and his co-interns' powers grow, they inadvertently unleash a malevolent entity that will threaten their very existence, according to Coming Soon

In "The Magicians" season 2, the novice spell-casters must utilize their newly-developed skills to defeat an enemy that could finally put an end to the magical world.

As they confront various challenges which test their resolve as sorcerers in the making, Quentin and the rest reach a realization: those who enter the magical world of Fillory will never be the same again.

The sophomore season will also answers questions that were left unresolved in the first season.

The groundbreaking TV show features a talented cast who include Stella Maeve (Julia), Olivia Taylor Dudley (Alice) Hale Appleman (Eliot), Arjun Gupta (Penny) and Summer Bishil (Margo).

"The Magicians" season 2 will also see the return of series regulars Rick Worthy (Dean Fogg) and Jade Tailor (Kady), according to Comic Book

The series is an offering of Universal Cable Productions and is executive produced by John McNamara (Aquarius), Sera Gamble (Supernatural), Henry Alonso Myers (Covert Affairs) and Groundswell Productions' Michael London and Janice Williams (Milk).

"The Magicians" season 2, which will be comprised of 13-episodes, is expected to unleash the imagination of fans as they are taken to a world filled by magical beings, amazing creatures and breathtaking landscapes.
