‘Vikings’ Season 5 Air Date, Latest News Update: Ivar To Be The Next King? Will Ragnar Die?
The latest "Vikings" season 5 spoilers have revealed that the son of Ragnar Lothbrok could be crowned as the next king of Kattegat. Would the character of Travis Fimmel die?
With Ivar the Boneless (Alex Hogh Andersen) being Ragnar's own child, is it enough reason for him to be given the opportunity to rule the kingdom?
A new report from Movie News Guide hinted that there is definitely a much bigger reason why he would be chosen by his father as the next one to sit on the throne.
The online publication's "Vikings" season 5 latest news update pointed out that despite his disability, Ivar has been consistent in showing off his skills, making him a strong contender to the throne, especially that he is being regarded as one of the "wisest men" ever alive.
In the mid-season trailer of the History channel drama series, Ragnar was seen telling his son this, "I promise you, my son, that one day the whole world will know and fear Ivar the Boneless."
Meanwhile, back in April, Michael Hirst disclosed to Entertainment Weekly that the historical drama has always been about Ragnar and his brother Rollo (Clive Standen). Will this continue during the airing of "Vikings" season 5?
"It was always going to be between [Ragnar and Rollo]," the England-born writer said. "But who knew that Rollo would look strong and fit and be really supercharged, and would motivate his people?"
"Ragnar's not motivating the Vikings, and I think there's a slightly suicidal sense about going into battle in that way," he added. "He wanted to get into a personal battle with Rollo, and I think he would have been happy if they both died."
When it comes to its air date, many have speculated that "Vikings" season 5 may already start running by 2017, considering that season 4B will premiere on Nov. 30.
In the meantime, Carter Matt reported that Ivar would unleash a new him in the second part of the fourth season.
