Google's new Pixel smartphones are a pack of new features. As long as battery life lasts, these features can be enjoyed by the user. Here are the tips used to increase the battery life and efficiency of the Pixel XL and Pixel mobiles.

Battery capacity of Pixel phones is more or less same as Nexus models 6P and 5X. Google announced 32 hours on Pixel XL and 26 hours of talk time on Pixel and over 3G. It lasts for 13 hours over Wi-Fi and LTE.

Reasons Affecting Battery Life

Battery life purely depends on usage. If you use mobile excessively, the battery gets drained, and its life doesn't last long. Also, there exist some hidden settings which cause a battery to discharge faster.

Managing the device's settings could improve the battery life. To get most out of battery, you need to know the reasons for draining battery.

Online streaming- For this, the screen should be on continuously. Brightness is the primary factor for poor battery performance. Mobile must have internet connection for the online watch. People stream over Wi-Fi or rely on data for this. These settings must be on over the entire process.

Navigation- When using an app for navigation, it forces GPS circuitry refreshes at a usual rate. Cellular networks should be there to support these features.

Here are the tip and tricks to save the juice:

  • Know about battery usage: You must know what apps are affecting its performance. So click on the settings and tap the battery icon to see the graph of the battery, how long battery runs, and percentage of battery that apps use.
  • Adaptor: Use the quick switch adaptor that comes in the box when you buy Google Pixel. Using other Smartphone adaptors will decrease battery span as they may not be compatible.
  • Turn off unnecessary options: Radio, GPS, Bluetooth, Data, etc. are the options to be used when you need them. After using it, turn them off. It saves juice.
  • Use power saving mode: Turn it on. It limits phone to phone calls, texting, and Facebook. By doing this, you can grasp extra hours.
  • Cut down background apps: Force stops the apps that run in the background. They do have their effect on battery.
  • Minimum customizations: Don't use live wallpapers, launchers, and too many widgets.
  • Brightness: Keep it to the minimum. But some people may difficult to operate mobile in low intensity. So they can use Auto brightness mode. Even it helps to improve life.
  • Update apps: Many of the apps get updated to keep battery life longer. So keep updating them.
  • Listen to songs by storing them on to local memory than listening to them over the internet. Example Airplay will consume 13% whereas playing music over offline apps will consume 5% of the charge.
  • Uninstall battery saving apps as they no longer do the task they are meant for. If possible uninstall the unimportance apps.
  • Don't charge the battery to 100% and don't use mobile if charging is below 20%. It has adverse effects on battery. Don't expose mobile to higher temperatures as chances of the explosion may occur. Maximum temperature up to which battery can withstand is 62° to 72° Fahrenheit.

By following the above-mentioned tips you can have a decent battery life. However maintaining a power backup becomes compulsory for today's heavy usage of Smartphone.
