Sleeping has just gotten a whole lot better. The bed manufacturing company, Sleep Number has released its latest bed, a smart bed. The model, which costs almost 10 grand, comes equipped with technology that can track sleeping patterns by monitoring heart rate and breathing rate, and obey vocal orders. The bed can also help prevent snoring, giving couples with a snoring problem a better overall night sleep.

The latest Sleep Number bed, the x12, debuted at the Consumer Electronics Show. The bed cost $7,999 for the queen-size version and comes equipped with built-in Sleep IQ technology. One of the many unique features is the bed's ability to prevent snoring. For couples that deal with snoring, there is a Partner Snore feature that will alter the side of the bed where the snorer is sleeping. The universal remote control will raise the Advance DualAir bed about five degrees in order to change the position of the sleeper and stop the snoring.

"It actually raises the head," stated chief product officer, Annie Bloomquist reported by USA Today. "It's an ever so slight articulation and it at least temporarily relieves your spouse's snoring."

Aside from this feature, the bed can track people's sleeping patterns and adjust the bed to provide optimal sleep. The bed also records heart rate, breathing rate, and time spent lying stationary or moving around. The bed can also be linked to an app that will calculate Sleep IQ scores based on activities, such as exercise and caffeine consumption. On top of these features, the bed can also answer vocal commands for some features, such as the built-in massage machine or the built-in lighting that sits underneath the bed and provides vision in the dark. The technology comes from BAM Labs. All beds are equipped with Wi-Fi in order to perform these functions.

"While this bed is a first of its kind with really unique consumer benefits, everybody deserves to know better sleep," Bloomquist said. "In the coming months we will be introducing these technologies across our entire Sleep Number line."

The queen-sized version of the bed will go on sale on February 8th. The company will roll out other sizes and prices throughout the rest of the year. The company also plans on selling the features as an add on for around $1,000.
