For people in specific positions like business owners and managers, indecision can lead to a negative result that could affect themselves and the people around them. Indecisiveness can impede progress and create stress, but understanding the mechanisms behind it can help develop effective strategies to overcome it. 

List and understand the facts, do not include "what if" scenarios

Indecisiveness is often the result of an overwhelming view of the number of possibilities and potential outcomes. Psychologists suggest that focusing on known facts rather than hypothetical scenarios can relieve a person of this thought. 

Individuals struggling with indecision should list the concrete, factual aspects of each option. By grounding decisions in reality, individuals can manage the anxiety associated with uncertain futures.

Create a task list and schedule

Creating a pros and cons list is a classic decision-making technique. However, it is essential to base this list solely on known factors. Relying on concrete information reduces reliance on "what if" situations, which can make decision making difficult. By separating known advantages and disadvantages, individuals can objectively evaluate options and make more informed choices.
