Aaron Hernandez Left Suicide Notes In Prison Cell; What We Know About His Death [VIDEO]

Aaron Hernandez recently died it was ruled as a suicide. The cause of death is asphyxia caused by hanging. Hernandez committed suicide in his own cell and reportedly  left suicide notes.

Hernandez, who played as tight end for the Patriots died Wednesday (Apr. 19). He was found dead in his own jail cell, where he has been locked for life sentence. Aaron Hernandez was sentenced to jail for killing semi-pro football player, Odin Lloyd in 2013.

The former football player has been sentenced of first-degree murder in 2015. However, he was found not guilty for double-murder in a separate case. It was indicated that Aaron Hernandez was alone in his jail cell before he died, according to Us Magazine.

In his cell, there were also three handwritten notes found and a bible. These three notes were said to be for his fiance, his daughter, and one has been reported to be for an alleged boyfriend. 

Meanwhile, suicide for inmates has been on the rise in the recent years. It is reported that prison suicides were at its highest in 2014, as reported by The Huffington Post

Suicide has a lot to do with the mental health of an individual. It is important for prison cells to be a place that inmates can be mentally stable.

It is also vital to note the mental health of people, especially those in prison. In the meantime, Hernandez has not been reported to be on the suicide list in prison. It has been a surprise to many.

Hernandez's family has requested for the incident to be a family and private matter. The investigation on his death will be ongoing and he will be laid to rest on Monday (Apr. 24), in his hometown in Bristol, Connecticut.
