'Major Crimes' Season 5 Finale Spoilers And Season 6 Storyline [VIDEO]

"Major Crimes" Season 5 will end with the last installment of the two-part finale for the crime procedural drama on TNT. Titled as "Shockwave Part Two," it shows the struggles that the Major Crimes division, since they found out who is a suspect.

In "Shockwave Part One," Sharon and her fellow investigators probe the case regarding a bombing incident which also killed a member of the LAPD. But it was not an easy task as the department chief Winnie Davis described it, as a sample of a terrorist attack.

The team later learned that the suspect, who is an ex-marine, killed his father-in-law. He makes his wife pay after she cheated on him a decade ago.

The last episode ended as another bomb goes off during the funeral service. During the said gathering, the group found out who the perpetrator is.

But it seems that it is not a simple criminal case. The episode synopsis from Spoiler TV revealed that the terrorist will not focus on their team, as his newest victims because of their involvement.

TNT Prepares Connection For Season 6

In an interview with TV Line, creator, James Dugg shared talked about the unique villain with an explosive storyline. He said it is a part of a huge plan.

The crew had been planning on ending the show with the said arc. According to him, the network did not feel confident in renewing the series so they formulate a possible endgame. TNT then surprised them wit a 13-episode renewal order for "Major Crimes" Season 6.

“But we also wanted to put an explosive punctuation to the end of the series, if that’s what we were doing, and instead it was an explosive punctuation to the end of the season. And as season enders go, it’s pretty big for us.” Duff said.

"Major Crimes" Season 5 Episode 20 "Shockwave Part Two" airs on Wednesday, Apr. 12, 2017. TNT has yet to reveal the schedule for the sixth season.
