The long wait for “Insecure” Season 2, which features a Black woman as its lead will probably not end until July. In the last month, “Insecure” co-creator Issa Rae, who also plays the role of Issa Dee in the series, took to the Instagram to answer some questions of fans regarding the arrival of season 2. She simply instructed the viewers to make their calendar for July 23.

This direct indication of a date means “Insecure” Season 2 will have its premiere on July 23 or at least anytime in July. However, so far no official announcement of the premiere of this critically acclaimed show is yet declared.

“Insecure” Season 2 Will Start Where Season 1 Left Off

Fans also asked her several other questions over Instagram. They wanted to know if her character, Issa Dee would be single in “Insecure” Season 2 after the break-up of her previous relationship. She was also asked if Molly (Yvonne Orji) is still single. But she preferred to remain silent about the characters’ fate in the series.

According to a report released by Buzzfeed, the HBO series, “Insecure” Season 2 will pick up right where the previous season actually left off. For viewers who missed the last episode of the first season, it ended with Lawrence Walker (Jay Ellis) moving out of his and Issa’s apartment after he left her (Issa) for cheating on him.

Upcoming Season Will Put Black Female Friendship At The Center Of The Story

Apart from this, the creator and actor of YouTube web series “Awkward Black Girl,” Issa Rae teased some bits of information at Deadline’s annual Contenders Emmys at the DGA Theater that the upcoming season will also focus on Black female friendship, as reported by Essence. She actually wanted to keep Black women at the center of “Insecure” Season 2.

“I think for such a long time, I just was not seeing great black female friendships on television. It was constantly about tearing one another down or throwing shade,” Issa Rae said.
