"Outlander" Season 3 First Set Photo Shows Balfe and Heughan Having Fun

The third installment of Starz drama will incorporate a thrilling sea voyage by the two lead protagonists, Jamie and Claire. The first photo from the set reveals both  Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe  enjoying themselves. As Jamie looks out to the see, Claire has an adoring look on her face, Goldderby reported.

Balfe is seen holding a cup of coffee. The photo was posted on Instagram and was captioned as "Is that a sail thru coffee place?"

"Outlander" Season 3 is scheduled to be over by May, while its premiere is scheduled for Sept. Viewers will remember that season 2's final episode was aired in July last year, so they have to wait for about 14 months for the new season to premiere.

Meanwhile, there is some good news for the show's fans. Season 4's production is about to begin this summer. This, in turn, means that the gap between its third and four installments will be having a shorter gap. Reports claimed that the gap between season 2 and season 3 is greater, as the team had to travel to South Africa for shooting.

Balfe admitted in an interview that she loves the idea of being on location. "Sunshine, vineyards. It's beautiful. I was lucky enough to go there about 10 years ago, and Cape Town is so stunning."

"Just being there will be amazing," she added. The actress had also shared her fondness for wine and whiskey.

Meanwhile, scenes of Balfe and Heughan at sea are being shot now in South Africa. The Christian Post wrote that the sea-bound for season 3 are slated to be done by the coming month.

Moreover, the final script for the upcoming season is already loaded and locked. Matthew Roberts, the executive producer of the series revealed on Twitter that he is done with completing the script for the new season.
