In an interview with UKTV, Russell Brand reminisced his short lived romance with the "Roar" hit maker, saying their popularity might have contributed to their divorce. He recalled how Katy Perry got very busy with her music career and ongoing tours while he, on the other hand, had a couple of shows he had to focus on.

"The marriage didn't last for a very long time, and I think that is to do with the undulating nature of fame," the comedian said in an interview, which was aired on "John Bishop: In Conversation With."

The interviewer then asked his thoughts about keeping their marriage away from the public eye, to where Russell Brand said that it might have been more complicated with there are external forces butting into the relationship.

He added that he wished happiness for the singer, whom he once loved. He also said that he still remembers her when he hears her songs or see her, and will always have feelings for her, an NME report said.

"I still feel very warm towards her," he said. "I feel like when I hear about her or see her, 'Aw there's that person. There's that person in the world.'"

Katy Perry and Russell Brand married in India in 2010. However, they decided to divorce almost two years after.

Russell Brand just welcomed his first born, Mabel with girlfriend Laura Gallacher, Billboard said. They are now engaged. For her part, Katy Perry dated Orlando Bloom for a year but they eventually drifted apart early this year. The "Thinking Of You" singer also previously dated singer, John Mayer.
