'Deadpool 2' News & Update: Brad Pitt As Cable Not Happening, Thanks to His Schedule

While "Deadpool 2" will take at least a year to hit the big screen, there's already so much buzz surrounding the highly anticipated sequel to the 2016 hit movie. Such buzz is thanks to the casting news surrounding the Ryan Reynolds  -  and maybe Brad Pitt starrer.

Last week, news broke out that Brad Pitt is in the running to play Cable, Deadpool's partner in crime in the upcoming film. Now, Brad Pitt as Cable is not going to happen, thanks to his schedule.

No Brad Pitt In "Deadpool 2"

According to Comicbook, "Deadpool 2's" David Leitch shared insider information about Brad Pitt as Cable. He said that he and the rest of production was able to meet with the Academy Award-winning actor to discuss the possiblity of him playing Cable.

He added that the actor is "incredibly interested," however, "things didn't wokr out schedule-wise." Nonetheless, David Leitch believes that Brad Pitt as Cable would've been amazing.

Now that Brad Pitt as Cable is not going to happen, there are two other actors who are vying to play the role. One of them is "Stranger Things" star David Harbour, who plays Chief Jim Hopper in last year's hit breakout Netflix series.

Who Will Play Cable?

Another name that has been linked to the "Deadpool 2" role is Russell Crowe. As for Brad Pitt, fans can see him in the upcoming "War Machine," which has a release date of May 26.

As Brad Pitt as Cable is not going ot happen, thanks to his schedule, Screenrant reported that Michael Shannon may be the top contender for the role of Cable in "Deadpool 2." For now, the film is in its pre-production phase, with star Ryan Reynolds collaborating with writer Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese.
