The popularity of Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe's "Outlander" series has led to a significant increase in the number of tourists in Scotland. Meanwhile, a travel operator has packaged a special "Outlander" inspired tour to enjoy an authentic Jacobite experience.

"Outlander" Series Benefitted Scotland's Tourism Industry

Scotland's tourism industry has been experiencing a positive impact, thanks to the "Outlander" team's shooting locations in the country. The scenes picturized in the series have made several locations top tourist attractions in Scotland, CarterMatt reported.

The impact of the series can be understood from the fact the there has been a boost of 15 percent visitors, as compared to the previous years, for instance, The Doune and Blackness castles particularly witnessed a one-third increase in tourists as compared to the past years.

Diana Gabaldon, the author of the series will soon head off to South Africa. The production team including Heughan and Balfe are at present filming there for the upcoming season.

Gabaldon announced her intention recently on Twitter. Audiences of the show appreciate the fact that without the writer this popular show would not have existed in the first place.

"Outland" Inspired Tour Started In Scotland to Enjoy Authentic Jacobite Experience

A tour operator in Scotland has designed an amazing Jacobite Highland hike. The package has taken inspiration from Starz travel drama "Outlander." The tour is called "Outlander Adventure Experience" and transports the visitors back to three hundred years to some prominent locations related to the Jacobite revolution.

The tour last for five nights and four days and is a guided trip. These tours will run until Oct. this year and costs £598 for each person.

Both accommodation and meals are arranged in the Fraoch Lodge Boat of Garten, which is owned by the Bateman family, The Scotsman noted. The cost of them is included in the package.
