It's been three years since Bungie's "Destiny" landed on consoles, and since the success of the online-only multiplayer first-person shooter video game from Activision, fans have looked forward to a full sequel. The time has come, as Bungie and Activision now hint at the upcoming game called "Destiny 2," which may see the destruction of Last City.

According to Gamespot, both Bungie and Activision remained coy about the release of "Destiny 2," which for now does not have an official release date yet. Activision did, however, say that it may arrive this fall. Meanwhile, Bungie took to the official Twitter account of "Destiny" to publish an image of "Destiny 2." It features what looks like the destruction of Last City.

As per Polygon, the number 2 in "Destiny 2" in the poster it the same one that appears in a poster that was leaked last week. The leaked poster indicated a September 8, 2017 release for the upcoming game. Both Bungie and Activision have not confirmed nor denied the September 8, 2017 release date. If this is true, "Destiny 2" will be released exactly three years after "Destiny."

"Destiny" fans who are looking forward to "Destiny 2" would be familiar with the four expansions that kept players busy throughout the years, including "The Dark Below" in 2014, "House of Wolves" and "The Taken King" in 2015, and "Rise of Iron" in 2016.

Twitter user Nibel also shared some observations on the new "Destiny 2" image, writing that the poster shows the destruction of the Last City, which was saved by the Traveler in "Destiny." in the "Destiny 2" poster, however, darkness has fallen and there's fire everywhere.
