Update Date: Mar 20, 2017 02:02 AM EDT

Lionel Messi latest news seems to be disturbing, as well as intriguing. The legendary star that has represented the Barcelona club for such a long time may leave it if he fails to reach an agreement over a new contract. The club already has taken this possibility in consideration and is reportedly eyeing Ousmane Dembele as Messi's replacement.

According to Express, the Nou Camp officials may not be able to meet the latest wage demands from the 29-year-old Argentinean. It is because the club ensured that the staff cost is always below 70 percent of its revenue.

Lionel Messi May Continue; Club Still Wants To Sign Dembele

And even if the international footballer agrees to the conditions of the contract from Barcelona, the club is still interested in signing up a deal with Dembele, so that they can always have striking options in the future. The source said that Barca wants to rope in the youngster, either way this summer, even if Lionel Messi does not leave Barcelona.

Currently, Dembele is in contract with Dortmund and the club does not want to let go of their star player. However, if the deal appears to be good, they may think of it. On the part of Barcelona, it seems that the club officials will be ready to hand out big money for getting the 19-year-old footballer.

The youngster came into the limelight when he scored seven goals this season for Dortmund. Incidentally, Dembele joined the club from Rennes only last summer. Sources added that Barca will think of using the new player as an alternative to Lionel Messi in the regular 3-4-3 system.

Lionel Messi Enjoys Holiday With Family

All these new speculated developments had little impact on the legendary player, as he enjoyed a family vacation at Disneyland, Paris. According to The Sun, the Argentinean footballer tried to keep his identity a secret under a black cap, a full beard, and a black hoody. Despite the media attention, Lionel Messi seemed unaffected.

However, he did give in to the request of few fans and posed with them for few clicks.
