Update Date: Mar 18, 2017 11:10 PM EDT

Though his fans were disappointed when actor Ryan Gosling did not win the Oscars in the Best Actor category, he is a lucky man. He made an entry into the Oscars this year with a glamorous date much to the envy of many. Moreover, the actor has also bagged a new project for himself.

Why Is Ryan Gosling So Charming

Users on the web got crazy when the "La La Land" actor made an appearance at the awards night with a gorgeous date. Eva Mendes, the actor's long-term girlfriend was missing at the event. But, there was a bit of surprise when it was revealed that the blonde beauty was none other than his sister Mandi Gosling.

Incidentally, Mandi is a music video and television producer. This is not the first time she accompanied her actor brother to an event, as the duo has been spotted in other red carpet events as well, Daily Mail noted. His affection towards his sister is one of the reasons why he enjoys such an overwhelming fan-following but there are also other reasons for his popularity.

When his co-star Emma Stone bagged the Oscars in the Best Actress category, Ryan Gosling gave her a supportive and sweet look. Eventually, when the envelope mix-up fiasco took place, his smile never wavered.

Ryan Gosling Is Busy With New Project

Gosling's fans will be delighted to know that actor is busy with another new film. According to a recent report in Variety, the actor has been roped in to produce an adaptation of Jeff Lemire's graphic novel titled "The Underwater Welder" for the big screen.

But that does mean that the actor will be necessarily seen in the film. At present, no screenwriters, director, or actors are being linked to the project. The novel follows an underwater welder and the man's paranormal experiences under the sea.
