'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' Release Date, News: James Gunn Hints At Secret Roles For Sylvester Stallone And Michael Rosenbaum

The trailers for the upcoming "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" have showcased some changes to the lineup to the movie, including the addition of two more official Guardians to the squad. One of the trailers have also given fans a glimpse of Kurt Russell as Ego, Peter Quill's father, but if you think the film hasn't got any more secrets up its sleeve, think again. That's because director James gunn hints at secret roles for Sylvester Stallone and Michael Rosenbaum in the upcoming Marvel hit franchise.

What Else Can Fans Expect From Cameos In The Movie?

According to Screenrant, not only will "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" see the addition of Karen Gillan's Nebula and Michael Rooker's Yondu to the official Guardians squad, but it will also see the appearance of "Smallville" actor, Michael Rosenbaum and Sylvester Stallone in the film. Gunn admitted that the roles of these two actors are "very important to the Marvel universe."

An even more interesting fact is that both "Smallville" actor Michael Rosenbaum and Sylvester Stallone will seem to interact a lot with each other, as "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" director James Gunn said that Rosenbaum's character "works in tandem with Sly's character." Gunn made the announcement via The Adam Corolla Show podcast, after which Rosenbaum immediately took to Twitter to share his relief that he can now talk about it, Entertainment Weekly reported.

A Secret Well-Kept

Now that James Gunn hinted at the secret roles for Sylvester Stallone and Michael Rosenbaum in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," Rosenbaum can now breathe a sigh of relief, as the apparently kept the secret for a year. "I'm in freaking Guardians," he tweeted.

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is slated to arrive this May 5 and will see the return of Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax, and Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel as the voices of Rocket and Baby Groot, respectively.
