'Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2' News & Update: Director James Gunn Confirms Appearances In 'Infinity War'; Shares Ego's Superpowers

Ahead of the highly anticipated release of "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" this May, director James Gunn has shared some juicy details about where the Guardians will head to next and talks a little about Ego's superpowers. Ego is known to be Peter Quill's intergalactic father, played by Kurt Russell.

In the upcoming Marvel film, the Guardians will see additions to their crew, but it seems that it isn't the only thing to look forward to, as director James Gunn confirms appearances in "Infinity War."

Guardians In "Infinity War" Movie?

"Infinity War" is the two-part third installment of Marvel's "The Avengers," which will see various superheroes teaming up to finally defeat Thanos. It's directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, who took over from Joss Whedon in the director's chair. "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" will find the cast reunited, and director James Gunn confirmed that they have "an integral part" in "Infinity War," as per Collider.

Meanwhile, "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" director James Gunn also shared that a third sequel will also be in store for the Guardians. The first film was a massive success, which is why it wasn't any question as to whether or not a sequel would be created. If this second film does well, and it looks like it will judging from the overwhelming response of the trailers, Marvel will push forward with the final film in the trilogy.

Peter Quill And Ego's Relationship

According to Cinemablend, "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" will shed light on the various relationships surrounding the Guardians, who will also appear in "Infinity War." This includes that of Peter Quill and his father, Ego, whose superpowers director James Gunn has unveiled.

According to him, Ego has the power to "manifest himself in different ways...such as Kurt Russell." He added that Ego had been alone for the longest time and may have found love in Peter Quill's mother.
