"Game of Thrones" Star Maisie Williams Teases Sansa's Death In Season 8

It all started when Maisie Williams, one of the actresses from "Game of Thrones" made a controversial comment about Sansa recently. The actress who is seen in the role of Arya Stark in the series said "She's dead," while remarking about the fate of Sansa.

According to a report from TVLine, Williams made this surprising comment while attending the SXSW Festival in Texas. Sophie Turner, who portrays the character of Sansa in the series and Williams were representing the showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff as moderators at the event.

Williams spoke about the death of the character, as the conversation drifted towards Turner's blonde hair. However, it is not clear whether the actress was just joking or stating a fact. Either way, if it is the truth, such a revelation could be quite shocking for the show's fans.

Will Sansa Survive "Game of Thrones" Season 7?

Fans need not panic, as nothing is sure as of date. In fact, last Feb., Turner made a comment that appeared to contradict Wiliams" remarks. The actress spoke to Express at the red carpet event of the BAFTAs and the outlet cited her as saying: "We've just finished shooting season seven of Thrones, and I've got a couple of movies to do before X-Men starts. And then we go on to season eight."

Thus, her statement seems to indicate that Turner will reprise her role in the final season of "Game of Thrones." After several months of waiting, the showrunners of "Game of Thrones" revealed that the final season will just have six episodes. So, season 8 will have one episode less than the upcoming season.
