Speculations are prevalent that the much-anticipated and delayed book "Winds of Winter" may finally release in Sept.

"Winds of Winter" is the sixth book in the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series and it has been delayed for over six years. Now, reports are rife that the author George R. R. Martin may release the much-anticipated book on his 69th birthday in Sept. Martin had also expressed hope in a post on his blog Not a Journal, that the book may release within the year.

More Details About "Winds of Winter"

The TV adaptation of the book series is known as "Game of Thrones," which is also the name of the first book, that was released in 1996. It was followed by "A Clash of Kings" in 1998.

The third book in the series is "A Storm of Swords," which was published in 2000 followed by "A Feast for Crows" in 2005. The publication delays started with the fourth book and the fifth book "A Dance with Dragons" published in 2011 also continued the trend.

The last two books in the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series are "Winds of Winter" and "A Dream of Spring," respectively and they have been inordinately delayed. Martin has been urged many times to take on a co-author to complete the book series but he is not interested in the alternative.

What Are Spoilers Saying?

Meanwhile, "Winds of Winter" spoilers indicate that the book is going to focus majorly on the Mother of Dragons, who will play a pivotal role in the book. She may marry Tyrion Lannister and rule over Westeros, as well.

On the other hand, HBO has announced that "Game of Thrones" Season 7 will premiere in July, according to Time. The upcoming season of the show suffered numerous production delays due to weather constraints. It is expected to feature a great war, presumably in Westeros and numerous key characters may also face their demise.
