Fifteen years after that movie, Mandy Moore is doing a sci-fi thriller TV series entitled "Darkest Minds." Let's find out more about this upcoming show.

Mandy Moore Acting Career

The 32-year old actress is currently on the TV series "This is Us," where she is portraying the role of Rebeca Pearson.The TV show is now airing on its third season. She is also the voice behind the character of Rapunzel in the TV adaption of "Tangled."

New Show for Mandy Moore?

"This is Us" star, Mandy Moore joins Amandla Stenberg in "Darkest Minds," Fox's version of the YA trilogy. Jennifer Yuh Nelson, famously recognized for directing the "Kung Fu Panda" films, is doing her live-action directorial presentation with the teen sci-fi project that is being created by Shawn Levy. This is according to a report by Hollywood Reporter.

The upcoming sci-fi movie is set in America, where a pandemic has decimated most of the kids and teens. The story is about teens with superpowers who are stolen from their families and placed in internment compounds.

Moore, who won a Golden Globe nod for her performance on "This Is Us," embarks on a journey, together with, Stenberg who became popular when she portrayed Rue in the first "Hunger Games" movie in 2012, as reported by Entertainment Weekly.

Stenberg is playing the role of Ruby Daly, a 16-year-old with telekinetic powers who leaves her encampment and follows a group of teens on the run from the authorities. "Darkest Minds" will start shooting this Mar.
