'Overwatch' News & Update: Blizzard's New Character Isn't Doomfist; Orisa Arriving Late March

"Overwatch" is receiving a new hero towards the end of this month, but it won't be Doomfist, as some had believed. After "Brooklyn Nine Nine" star Terry Crews campaigned to lend his voice to Doomfist, it seems that the studio is keeping mum on whether or not they will use his talents. Meanwhile, as Blizzard's new character isn't Doomfist, it will actually be Orisa, who is arriving late Mar.

Welcome, Orisa

According to Gamespot, "Overwatch" director Jeff Kaplan took to the game's forums to share that the studio has decided to keep Orisa in the Public Test Realm for a little while longer so that they can address "a lot of issues" based on the "great feedback" that they have been receiving. Orisa was first introduced to the PTR last week, and since then has gone through some changes. In fact, one of the changes that occurred to her lately is her lowered magazine size and increased cost of Ultimate.

As per IGN, Orisa's Fusion Driver weapon's magazine size is now 150, compared to its previous 200. Her Supercharger ultimate ability is also up by 15%. These changes were made to the character so that Blizzard can work with a "broader pool of results" before the character arrives to the final game. Of course, no one knows what final state Orisa will be in when she arrives to "Overwatch" later this month, but we do know that the new character isn't Doomfist.

Other Changes In The Game And Other Characters

Orisa, arriving late Mar. to "Overwatch," isn't the only character to receive some changes, as the report also indicates changes to the game and to some characters. These characters include Junkrat, who will no longer incur damage from his own explosions. Meanwhile, the Barrier Projector of Winston will now begin cooling down as soon as it is placed. Sombra's sound effect and voice-over when she enters stealth mode has been reduced to 15 meters, while her Translocator will cooldown at four seconds now, instead of six.
