Readers seem to have been highly impatient, as nothing is officially known about the actual release date of "Winds of Winter." Meanwhile, a recent theory said that writer George R.R. Martin has a powerful reason for delaying the launch of his book.

Though "Game of Thrones" may spill some of the contents of the writer's upcoming book, it is being said that George R.R. Martin has come up with an intriguing and unexpected twist to the plot, Stars Post wrote. One fan pointed out on Reddit that the author is working on a new twist for the sequel of "A Song of Ice and Fire."

Reports are also floating that as George R.R. Martin makes it a point to keep freshness in his story lines and ensure that they are entertaining. This unexpected twist in "Winds of Winter" can be related to a character who is dead in the television series.

Another Reddit user mentioned that the author had previously spoken about Mago in an interview given in 2011. The famous author had then teased that Mago is very much alive in the books. He further added that he could be a recurring character in his book, "Winds of Winter." The author also revealed earlier that he was occupied with other things and so could not complete his book earlier.

Possible Release Date Of "Winds of Winter"

There has been a long wait for the release of George R.R. Martin's sixth book in the famous series titled "A Song of Ice and Fire." However, latest reports claim that the much-awaited book will eventually be released in 2018. According to these reports, the author is set to release the book on his 70th birthday, Christian Post mentioned.

As of late, writer, George R.R. Martin is yet to declare the release date of "Winds of Winter." Meanwhile, "Game of Thrones," its TV counterpart is expected to return for its seventh installment this summer.
