Netflix released its first teaser trailer for the "Dark" series. The promo has a creepy feel to it and teases about children disappearing under mysterious circumstances.

The streaming service recently announced its new television show at a press conference conducted in Berlin. This is the first original TV series to be streamed by Netflix in German.

Netflix Series "Dark" To Focus On Unexplained Disappearance Of Kids

This television series revolves around the subject of children going missing under strange and unexplained scenarios. It has some similarities with another Netflix hit show, "Stranger Things."

But unlike the latter, "Dark" does not deal with the story line of one missing kid. Netflix shared that the backdrop of the story is set in a town in Germany in present times, when two children vanish all of a sudden.

The plot is expected to expose disturbed relationships among a few families, as well as their double lives. It is also expected that that there will be a surprising twist to the story, which will be linked back to Winden in 1986.

Though this show is in German, it has subtitles in English. The sneak peek for the new series highlights search parties and worried parents trying to track down the missing kids in the forest and the fields.

A supernatural twist in the series is teased when a character says, "The question isn't who kidnapped the children, but when." The promo also suggests that the show may have a time travel plot.

The all-new Netflix series is tipped to premiere in winter. The cast includes Jordis Triebel, Oliver Masucci, and Louis Hofmann among others.

According to CNET, the giant streaming service also allowed the production team of "Dark" to cast some of the country's best actors. This was revealed by Baran Bo Odar, the director and co-creator of the show. He further said that he had fun while working with Netflix as the latter gave them complete creative freedom.
