Fans never expected Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler) behind bars, although it seems imprisonment was his fate in “Criminal Minds” Season 12. Plenty of attempts have already been taken by his Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) team members to bring him out of prison but every effort went futile.

‘Criminal Minds’ Season 12 Episode 16 To Emphasize Reid’s Friendship With Calvin

Spoilers for “Criminal Minds” Season 12 released by TV Guide claim that the BAU genius, Spencer Reid will get a new acquaintance in his prison. A former FBI agent named Calvin Shaw (Harold Perrineau) is said to be Reid’s new friend in the upcoming episode(s). He has been detained for murdering one of his informants in 2005. Recent synopsis of episode 16 also suggest that he will used to his life behind bars and his new friendship with Calving Shaw will be like a drop of water in desert.

Based on a small discussion between TV Guide reporter and showrunner Erica Messer, we have come to know that “Sons of Anarchy” actor Harold Perrineau will be seen playing his role as Calvin Shaw for a few episodes of “Criminal Minds” Season 12.

Erica Messer said that he is a sort of mysterious actor and she has been a fan since his wonderful performance in a decade old “Oz” and “Lost” television series. “Harold is amazing and we have all been fans of his since ‘Oz’ and ‘Lost.’ To have him with us is just a joy,” Erica added.

BAU dealing With An UnSub?

According to The Christian Post, fans will see BAU dealing with an UnSub (Unknown Subject) in “Criminal Minds” Season 12 Episode 16 titled “Assistance is Futile.” That unsub is reportedly known as bone crusher. However, nothing more is revealed about this unidentified person.

“Criminal Minds” Season 12 Episode 16 will be aired on Mar. 15, Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
