Fans can take a deep breath now that HBO has confirmed on the airing of "Westworld" Season 2. However, the exact premiere date is yet to be announced. Also, there is still no certainty if Dr. Ford is alive or not.

"Westworld" Season 2 Premiere Details

The renewal of "Westworld" Season 2 was announced in November last year by Casey Bloys, Programming President of HBO. But, while some speculate that season 2 will push through later this year, there are others who claim that fans will have to wait for it in early 2018.

Even HBO can now take a sigh of relief after the announcement of the renewal, since "Game of Thrones" is soon approaching iys final two seasons. Moreover, "Vinyl" was declared a flop, which could have come as a big blow for this premium cable giant, according to Den of Geek.

It is being said that  the cable giant was keen to air "Westworld" in fall. But it now appears that the premiere date of the show will get shifted beyond October 2017.

This was further confirmed by Entertainment Weekly when Bloys shared with the outlet that he is not expecting season 2 before 2018. Bloys revealed, "My suspicion is sometime in 2018 because of how big the world is and what goes into shooting it," The programming president added, "So I don't have a date exactly-they're going to have to map it out and write the scripts-but my guess is sometime in '18."

The Return Of Dr. Ford Is Still Uncertain

Though, the start of "Westworld" Season 2 is still many months away, viewers are curious to know the fate of Dr. Ford (Anthony Hopkins). It is still a mystery whether fans will see this character alive or not in the upcoming season. However, the producers are tight-lipped about whether the character will resurface in Season 2 or not. Showrunner Nolan said, "We'll see where our story takes us." The showrunner had revealed in the past how thrilled he was to get the privilege of working with Hopkins. He feels it has been a great pleasure in his career.
