Samsung Galaxy S8 Latest News & Update: Big Price Bump From S7 Expected For Upcoming Flagship

With a new Samsung handset comes a new price and the Samsung Galaxy S8 is expectedly more expensive. The pricing standpoint is a given with any new and upcoming device though most want to know first why this is so. The recent months have seen various takes on what the next flagship will have to offer, a big bump from the current Samsung Galaxy S7.

The price of the Samsung Galaxy S8 is believed to be higher. This was backed up by a recent Twitter post from a Chinese account (@mmddj_china) thought the suggested retail price per region is expected to vary, Android Headlines reported. The alleged price will be roughly around $887 over in China, something that is up for scrutiny.

With fluctuating exchange rates, the cost of getting the Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to be different – meaning it could be higher or lower. To justify the price being commanded by Samsung for the Samsung Galaxy S8, specs will be in focus. By now, most have heard of the emphasis on the AI feature named Bixby plus the expected improved curved dual-edge displays, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 or Exynos 8835 chipset and 12 MP rear camera it will come with.

Worth noting as well is the 3,600 mAh battery, expected to be better and sufficient to power up the new features the upcoming flagship has to offer, Pocket-Lint reported. The Samsung Galaxy S8 will reportedly make use of Sony batteries, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Integrating the design and internal specs of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Edge, it's really a no-brainer that a more expensive device is expected to come out next. As mentioned in a previous post, all this should be revealed by April, the target date of release for the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Edge with full production kicking off this March.
