The highly anticipated Hugh Jackman film "Logan" has yet to premiere, but there are already discussions contemplating on the future of Wolverine. Some fans believe that Dafne Keen turned in an amazing performance and are hoping that the young X-23 will eventually get her own movie. But is it possible that director James Mangold is already planning a sequel featuring Laura Kinney as the new Wolverine?

Comic book fans are well aware that X-23 eventually takes on the Wolverine mantle after Logan decided to retire. The possibility of this particular storyline being translated in "Logan" has certainly been an idea some people are wondering about, especially since it is Hugh Jackman's final film as the mutant. So is 20th Century Fox already planning a sequel with the new Wolverine?

Director James Mangold is definitely open to the possibility of working with Dafne Keen for Laura Kinney's solo movie. James Mangold recently spoke with We Got This Covered, where the director expressed interest in working with Dafne Keen again in a sequel. The "Logan" helmer stated that Keen was "incredible" in the movie and admitted he wants to be "involved" in "another film" featuring X-23.

Mangold even stated that he felt proud that his decision to "insert Laura" in the Hugh Jackman flick turned out well. But who will serve as X-23's mentor now that Hugh Jackman is set to retire from his role as Wolverine? According to io9, there is a possibility that Professor X could take Laura under his wing as long as the character isn't killed off in "Logan".

It might happen, especially after Patrick Stewart said that he isn't ready to give up on his mutant character, leading to speculations that he could appear alongside Dafne Keen in a possible sequel. In the meantime, "Logan" will premiere on March 3.
