Even though smartphones and tablets are very trendy and convenient for most, there are still book lovers who prefer to spend their time reading through an Amazon Kindle. However, despite having a great mass of re-sold production, the company still decides on practically facing out its first and second generation, including Kindle DX.

Amazon Kindle: is it goodbye soon?

According to The Slash Gear, the users of these models who try to perform a factory reset on the device or even purchase them in secondary market being slightly used, would not be able to register it to the Amazon Accounts. It means that they cannot browse on the Amazon Kindle Store and cannot connect the device anymore.

It doesn't exactly denote that the company will kill the Amazon Kindle since there are still no official announcements regarding the said action. Furthermore, the upgraded devices are being utilized by a sizeable number of users, which would probably make it nonsensical for the corporation to instantly unregister all of its product models.

Amazon Kindle: what really happened?

This was discovered through a complaint of one of the users, who stated that when she conducted a factory reset on her Amazon Kindle device, she suddenly was not able to connect to the Kindle Store. Several protests about the said problem rapidly approached.

According to The Verge, a customer service representative of Amazon affirms that the said electronics are pretty old for their network. The Tech Support Executive Customer Relations of the company confirms this statement and continuously motivate their customers to upgrade their devices and always be up to date.

Just last year, Amazon started to send warning to Kindle users about the invalidity of registration of the older generation. An updated announcement of an Amazon spokesperson states that they are still investigating this matter and they are still hoping for further support from their customers despite these inconveniences.

Are you an Amazon Kindle user? Did you experience the same registering issues?
